No, this time it’s not a grizzly bear, nor a big wapiti, but I love this photo.  A baby whiskey jack near the Athabasca mountain.

Alone, close to the glacier, on an immense white background, in the middle of this “White Silence” so well described by Jack London.

I find it amazing how something so little can survive there …It looks like a toy, right?

No, esta vez no es un grizzly ni un gran wapiti , pero me encanta esta foto. Ahi teneis un joven whiskey jack, una especie de arrendajo norteamericano. Estaba solo cuando lo vimos, justo al lado de un glaciar, en un inmeso fondo blanco. Parecia de juguete, graznando solo, como por impulsos mecanicos, en medio de un impactante silencio invernal, de ese “silencio blanco” que Jack London describe en sus relatos del Yukon.

No deja de sorprenderme como algo tan pequenho y ligero puede sobrevivir en condiciones tan dificiles.
