Two trips to Iceland

Photos of two express trips to the mythical Viking island, looking for northern lights, which we finally saw in the second trip, from Selfoss.

First trip on Autumn, the Golden Circle, spending the night in Reykjavík. First stop, the crater Kerið, formed about 6,500 years ago, at the northern end of a row of craters known as Tjarnarhólar. Afterwards, several waterfalls and geysers, until arriving at Gullfoss (Golden Waterfall), an iconic waterfall of Iceland which offers a stunning view of the forces and beauty of untouched nature. We traveled also through the impressive fjords of the northwest of the island, where we were lucky enough to behold a group of beautiful Icelandic horses at a gallop.

From the second one, on Winter,  there are pictures of Northern Lights over the snowy fields of Selfoss and of the Skógafoss waterfall. We saw also Northern Lights from the plane going to Reykjavik from Montreal. I tried hard to capture this stunning scene of the Northern Lights while aboard the flight -to balance the camera was extremely difficult!-. You can find also the time-lapse of this amazing spectacle.
