Giant Tortoises
This album is about the visit to the Giant Tortoises of Galápagos Islands, the largest living species of tortoise. All the images were taken in the Santa Cruz Highlands. These creatures can easily reach the 150 years old. They are the longest-lived vertebrates. The tortoises that appear on the video are adults all of them, with an average of 100 years old…It is amazing to see how these eyes with more than a century are facing the camera.
The photos show also the dominant vegetation in the highlands, the Scalesia trees, which create the lush and green color.
You can also find some endemic birds to the Galápagos Islands: The Galápagos flycatcher (Myiarchus magnirostris), the Galápagos mockingbird (Mimus parvulus) and the Galápagos dove (Zenaida galapagoensis)
