This album is about the visit to the Giant Tortoises of Galápagos Islands, the largest living species of tortoise. All the images were taken in the Santa Cruz Highlands. These creatures can easily reach the 150 years old. They are the longest-lived vertebrates. The tortoises that appear on the video are adults all of them, with an average of 100 years old...It is amazing to see how these eyes with more than a century are facing the camera. The photos show also the dominant vegetation in the highlands, the Scalesia trees, which create the lush and green color. You can also find some endemic birds to the Galápagos Islands: The Galápagos flycatcher (Myiarchus magnirostris), the Galápagos mockingbird (Mimus parvulus) and the Galápagos dove (Zenaida galapagoensis)

Galapagos marine iguanas are the world’s only marine lizards. They inhabit the Galapagos Islands and, in the absence of mammalian predators, have adapted well to the harsh marine environment. The pictures have been taken at Tortuga Bay (Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz) and in different areas of Isabela Island.

Before visiting Tintoreras, at Isabela Island, we had the morning off. Jeanneth, the owner of our hostel at Puerto Villamil (the Sun Island Hostel) recommended to me a beach which is not too far from the hostel, like half an hour or so with the bike. On the beach, playa del amor, I found a total and holy solitude, only in the company of some finches, a heron, some marine iguanas and a lively and playful sea lion that was prancing around me all the time. He is the protagonist of this series of photos. I sincerely think that we became friends. From the album, you also have access to the third video of the series Galapagos Experience, Waltz under the Water, where appears this happy sea lion dancing his waltz around me.
